Apo 2.07b. Another spiral. I tried to make this work in something other than pastels, but gave up after going through a few dozen gradients. This looks a bit too much like my last upload to suit me, but different enough that I'm uploading it anyway. ;)

I'm not particularly happy with the framing/presentation and would welcome suggestions for improvement.

Daily DeviationThe Suggester Writes: "I think Caught in the Rain by ~skellorg deserves a DD because of the lovely pastel gradient, the subtle texturing, the way it looks like pieces of paper lying one on top of the other, because of the thoughtful cropping and excellent execution... and finally, because it's unique!"~ I agree with this excellent description; I love this fractal and hope you will too! I'm totally in love with the images you're creating -- love the pastel gradient, love the texture, love that it looks like papers folded one over the other...love it! :)
I think it looks very sweet!!!

Almost like you printed it onto a bunch of sheets of paper, and then laid them out in a spiral. Excellent job!

That is a very fine gradient & render combination. But, you always get great renders. Post your stats sometime for us please. regards...

It's absolutely beautiful. The delicate detail and gentle coloration remind me of one of those lovely mosaics found in the old Southwest. Or a sand painting I suppose. Either way, it's gorgeous. Keep it as is! :aww:

Thank you! And many thanks for adding it to your favorites. :) Funny, I had first thought of it as "Hopi Dance" and changed the name when the texturing started looking like the fractal had been left out in the rain, so I was seeing the Southwest in it as well. :)

Thank you for your very kind words, and many thanks for the fave. :)

Regarding rendering - I usually render at 1024 x 768 with these settings: Quality 1000, Filter Radius 0.8, Oversample 4. In the Adjust window (Camera/Rendering/Gradient/Image Size) on the Rendering tab I have Gamma set at 3, Brightness at 4, and Vibrancy at 1 usually, but on these last two deviation I bumped the Gamma up to 3.47 using the slider bar.
